Your water

Spot privacy

Spot secrecy is the oldest social contract in fishing. An app that leaks your water is an app you delete, so this is a per catch decision and the default protects you.

Three choices

Decided per catch, never assumed

It is not a global toggle you set once and forget. Every catch gets its own answer, because the honey hole you found last Tuesday and the pier everybody fishes are not the same thing.

  • Private keeps it in your log, your Fishdex™, and your stats and nowhere else
  • Fuzzed names the water body but offsets the coordinates so nobody gets your pin
  • Exact shares the full location when you actually want to share it
  • Changeable, so a decision you made in the moment is not permanent

What this protects

How the rest of the app respects it

The heatmap

Private catches never appear. Fuzzed catches contribute to the general area without exposing a pin. Only exact catches place a precise point.

The feed

A fuzzed catch posts with the water body named and the location offset. People see you got one out of the Loxahatchee. They do not get the coordinates.

Your own stats

Private catches still count for you. Your totals, your Fishdex™, your personal bests, and your season card all include them.

Blocking

If you block someone they are excluded from what you see and what sees you, consistently across the feed, search, and discovery.

Crowns and Slams

Competitive surfaces attach to named public spots like piers and inlets, so you can compete without publishing your private water.

Water body attribution

Catches attribute to the true location rather than the fuzzed one internally, so the intelligence stays accurate while the public view stays protected.

Questions

About spot privacy

The default is the protective option rather than the public one. You have to choose to share exact coordinates.

Yes. Visibility is editable after the fact, so a catch you shared can be pulled back.

No. Location is used to power your briefing, your conditions, your regulations, and the community features you opt into. The privacy policy is linked in the footer and is worth reading.
